Art as a catalyst for connection

This project began with a relatively straightforward question: how could local art and design become part of a new workplace destination in Eindhoven?

Rather than approaching it as an art programme alone, I saw an opportunity to begin with the building itself. Connection had already been identified as one of its defining themes, prompting a broader question: how might art contribute to that ambition rather than simply reflect it?

Drawing on research into environmental psychology, workplace behaviour and the ways people build meaningful connections, I developed the concept for a site-specific programme that explores how everyday encounters can become moments of curiosity, conversation and belonging.

To bring that vision to life, I am collaborating once again with Studio Kontou, whose thoughtful approach to art curation and extensive knowledge of the creative scene in Eindhoven felt like a natural fit for the project. Works from local artists and designers were carefully selected; each respond to a different aspect of human connection. Together they form a quiet narrative about belonging, shared experience and the role art can play in shaping the atmosphere of a place.

Alongside the artworks themselves, we’re exploring opportunities for storytelling, public programming and collaboration with the wider creative community, allowing the project to extend beyond the walls of the building.

The programme is currently under development. A full case study, including the research, curatorial framework and completed installation, will be shared following completion.

Expected completion: Q4 2026. More information available on request.
